"I've had a belly full of lies!" is the line that comes to my mind this morning. That line was spoken by John Wayne to Geraldine Page in the movie "Hondo." He could no longer stomach being complicit with her by concealing the truth from her innocent young son about her dead husband's evil character and the manner of his death, despite his affection for both of them.
The 6th District Constitutional Patriots had a public meeting again at the Life Center Auditorium, with two local state legislators and one local judge in attendance. The main speaker for the evening was a local businessman who had just returned from (that) Saturday's protest/rally in Washington, D.C.
One of the first things said by this normally reserved man was, "What people need to know is - the media is lying to them!" He lamented that the British and French media were there to cover the event, reporting numbers between 1 million and 2 million. He noted that the American media, with the exception of Fox News, was virtually nonexistent while reporting numbers in the "tens of thousands."
I went home from the meeting and picked up our local hometown newspaper to see its coverage of the D.C. rally. Guess what? Nothing was found! I then scoured a week's worth of this newspaper trying to find coverage on the recently resigned Obama administration czar Van Jones, a self-proclaimed communist with radical leftist ties, or the exploding ACORN corruption scandal. Again, the silence was deafening.
So, is deliberately withholding coverage on major news events of the day a violation of journalistic integrity? Doesn't suppression of truth by omission fly in the face of guaranteeing a free and truthful (implied) press by the First Amendment of our Constitution? Read Romans 1:18 to find out what God thinks about "men who suppress the truth." I believe much of the media is now past the point of a simple bias. They have moved to actually being complicit in furthering a radical transformation of our country. They routinely ignore any news damaging to their leftist agenda, or news promoting a return to limited government as proscribed by our Constitution.
I don't know about you, but I've had a belly full of lies!
