Limbaugh - Thanksgiving The story of the Pilgrims begins in the early part of the seventeenth century (that's the 1600s for those of you in Rio Linda, California). The Church of England under King James I was persecuting anyone and everyone who did not recognize its absolute civil and spiritual authority. Those who challenged ecclesiastical authority and those who believed strongly in freedom of worship were hunted down, imprisoned, and sometimes executed for their beliefs. A group of separatists first fled to Holland and established a community.
"After eleven years, about forty of them agreed to make a perilous journey to the New World, where they would certainly face hardships, but could live and worship God according to the dictates of their own consciences. On August 1, 1620, the Mayflower set sail. It carried a total of 102 passengers, including forty Pilgrims led by William Bradford. On the journey, Bradford set up an agreement, a contract, that established just and equal laws for all members of the new community, irrespective of their religious beliefs. Where did the revolutionary ideas expressed in the Mayflower Compact come from? From the Bible. The Pilgrims were a people completely steeped in the lessons of the Old and New Testaments. They looked to the ancient Israelites for their example.
"And, because of the biblical precedents set forth in Scripture, they never doubted that their experiment would work. But this was no pleasure cruise, friends. The journey to the New World was a long and arduous one. And when the Pilgrims landed in New England in November, they found, according to Bradford's detailed journal, a cold, barren, desolate wilderness. There were no friends to greet them, he wrote. There were no houses to shelter them. There were no inns where they could refresh themselves. And the sacrifice they had made for freedom was just beginning. During the first winter, half the Pilgrims – including Bradford's own wife – died of either starvation, sickness or exposure. When spring finally came, Indians taught the settlers how to plant corn, fish for cod and skin beavers for coats.
"Life improved for the Pilgrims, but they did not yet prosper! This is important to understand because this is where modern American history lessons often end. Thanksgiving is actually explained in some textbooks as a holiday for which the Pilgrims gave thanks to the Indians for saving their lives, rather than as a devout expression of gratitude grounded in the tradition of both the Old and New Testaments. Here is the part that has been omitted: The original contract the Pilgrims had entered into with their merchant-sponsors in London called for everything they produced to go into a common store, and each member of the community was entitled to one common share. All of the land they cleared and the houses they built belong to the community as well. They were going to distribute it equally. "Nobody owned anything. They just had a share in it. It was a commune, folks. It was the forerunner to the communes we saw in the '60s and '70s out in California – and it was complete with organic vegetables, by the way. Bradford, who had become the new governor of the colony, recognized that this form of collectivism was as costly and destructive to the Pilgrims as that first harsh winter, which had taken so many lives. He decided to take bold action. Bradford assigned a plot of land to each family to work and manage, thus turning loose the power of the marketplace. That's right. Long before Karl Marx was even born, the Pilgrims had discovered and experimented with what could only be described as socialism. And what happened? It didn't work!"
"It never has worked! "What Bradford and his community found was that the most creative and industrious people had no incentive to work any harder than anyone else, unless they could utilize the power of personal motivation! But while most of the rest of the world has been experimenting with socialism for well over a hundred years – trying to refine it, perfect it, and re-invent it – the Pilgrims decided early on to scrap it permanently. What Bradford wrote about this social experiment should be in every schoolchild's history lesson. If it were, we might prevent much needless suffering in the future. 'The experience that we had in this common course and condition, tried sundry years...that by taking away property, and bringing community into a common wealth, would make them happy and flourishing – as if they were wiser than God,' Bradford wrote.
"'For this community [so far as it was] was found to breed much confusion and discontent, and retard much employment that would have been to their benefit and comfort. For young men that were most able and fit for labor and service did repine that they should spend their time and strength to work for other men's wives and children without any recompense ... that was thought injustice.' Why should you work for other people when you can't work for yourself? What's the point? Do you hear what he was saying, ladies and gentlemen? The Pilgrims found that people could not be expected to do their best work without incentive. So what did Bradford's community try next? They unharnessed the power of good old free enterprise by invoking the undergirding capitalistic principle of private property.
"Every family was assigned its own plot of land to work and permitted to market its own crops and products. And what was the result? 'This had very good success,' wrote Bradford, 'for it made all hands industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been.' Bradford doesn't sound like much of a Clintonite" I wrote then "does he? Is it possible that supply-side economics could have existed before the 1980s? Yes. Read the story of Joseph and Pharaoh in Genesis 41. Following Joseph's suggestion (Gen 41:34), Pharaoh reduced the tax on Egyptians to 20% during the 'seven years of plenty' and the 'Earth brought forth in heaps.' (Gen. 41:47) In no time, the Pilgrims found they had more food than they could eat themselves.
"Now, this is where it gets really good, folks, if you're laboring under the misconception that I was, as I was taught in school. So they set up trading posts and exchanged goods with the Indians. The profits allowed them to pay off their debts to the merchants in London. And the success and prosperity of the Plymouth settlement attracted more Europeans and began what came to be known as the 'Great Puritan Migration.'" But this story stops when the Indians taught the newly arrived suffering in socialism Pilgrims how to plant corn and fish for cod. That's where the story stops, and the story basically doesn't even begin there. The real story of Thanksgiving is William Bradford giving thanks to God for the guidance and the inspiration to set up a thriving colony. The bounty was shared with the Indians. They did sit down and they had dinner, and I think they had a turkey, but it was not the Indians who saved the day. It was capitalism and Scripture which saved the day."

At very least this whole flap exposes evidence that one of the IPCC contributing sources provided false data. At very least... This whole discovery should be front page news but outside of the UK Daily Telegraph, FOX and the bloggers there has been absolutely no coverage. This entire movement is hell bent on destroying the US economy and redistributing  the wealth of the United States to every 3rd world nation on earth.

Investigation of this entire issue should be at the top of the US government’s agenda, MSM reporters should be chasing down ALGORE and grilling him about these allegations.  Instead we get politician sound bites, commercials, political speeches, and movie stars weeping over the impact of this lie… Check it out yourself folks…

Unless we invite God back into our hearts and honor the Constitution, America will never again be a land of prosperity and freedom. It is no coincidence that our country has struggled so much lately. It is you and I who have let this happen. We have abandoned the laws of nature and of nature's God.
Instead of choosing virtuous leaders devoted to the public good, we have empowered men and women motivated by love of power and money. Rather than empower local governments that are more responsive to the will of the people, we have concentrated power in a distant, centralized government that is highly susceptible to corruption and the debilitating influences of special interests. Because we have allowed the idea to flourish that nothing is right and nothing is wrong, that which is evil is accepted and that which is good is shunned.
We find ourselves in a wretched state of affairs because we have rejected the laws on which the Constitution was based. The concept of limited government was long ago abandoned, as were the separation of powers and checks and balances on government power. Now we are losing the rights of free speech and free press; the right to bear arms, even for self-defense; the right to choose our own health care; and our right not to be taxed without proper representation. The institution of marriage is under attack, as well as free-market principles.
Our God-given rights are rapidly being eroded by the state: personal choice; free conscience; enjoying the fruits of one's labor; owning and developing personal property; free association; the right to assemble; the right to petition; and, most importantly, the right to self-government.

Long ago, the Founders warned that we could lose what they had given us if we are no longer a virtuous and moral people. They were concerned that Americans would be "corrupted with riches the way people had been debilitated in Europe, where all they wanted was luxury, indolence, amusement and pleasure." Encouraging a strong work ethic, frugality and honesty, the Founders sought to perpetuate a gospel of morality and virtue.
If there was a consistent theme that appears in their writings and actions, it was that America had to remain a moral and religious people if we were to retain our freedoms. There was no better demonstration of this than in the passage of the Northwest Ordinance of 1787. Article 3 states, "Religion, morality and knowledge being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged."
In his farewell address; President George Washington identified religion and morality as the pillars of human happiness. John Adams said, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." Benjamin Franklin believed that "only a virtuous people are capable of freedom" because "a corrupt and selfish people could never make the principles of republicanism operate successfully."
Is mankind's most noble experiment forever lost? It will be if we fail to act. We could continue to reject God and ignore the Constitution. We could continue ignoring our civic responsibilities. Or we can forge a better future for our children and grandchildren. To accomplish this, we must do two things:
Above all else, we must become a better people, "a moral and religious people." We must love and honor God and our neighbors as we love ourselves. This is the foundation upon which our country was built.
We must tirelessly fight to restore our constitutional republic. Concerned, determined citizens are uniting and protesting, ordering the Washington cabal to restore to the American people their rights to self-government and free-market principles.
Now is the time to prepare for the two most important elections in the history of our republic — 2010 and 2012. Insist upon an end to the political games, the lies, the deception, and demand a full and honest accounting of the integrity, honesty and political world view of each candidate. Join millions of Americans in this new revolution. With God's help, we can succeed.

Heritage Foundation - In Pictures: Obamacare Puts One-Fifth of U.S. On Welfare

Medicaid is a means-tested welfare program created in 1965 to provide health care for low income families. Despite the fact that it is one of the most poorly performing of all the federal welfare programs it has become the cornerstone of how health insurance is expanded under Obamacare. The Health care “reform” bills advancing in the House and Senate would expand Medicaid by making this government-run health plan available to all adults with incomes at or below 150% of the poverty line. The change would dramatically multiply eligible recipients, with 46 states seeing increases of at least 20%, including 16 posting jumps of 50% or more. Almost 21% of the entire U.S. population would be eligible for Medicaid and seven states and the District of Columbia would have eligibility rates of at least 25%.

Right on cue Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY), Richard Daley, Paul Helmke and the other members of the “Brady Bill Bunch”, who never let a shooting go to waste, are out decrying lax gun laws as contributing to Hasan’s actions at Fort Hood. In fact Helmke had a statement on his national organization’s website the same day of the shooting… Just couldn’t wait could you Paul?

They place blame on the “availability” of firearms. They state that it is America’s “unhealthy love” of guns which perpetuates these shootings. After all, don’t you realize? Hasan bought that gun at a “gun store!” The laws, they are too lenient, and it is too easy to get a gun… so let’s take freedom away from the people! God knows we wouldn’t want to deal with what really killed those brave men and women… Hasan!

I am so tired of slime-balls like Schumer being provided a microphone to spew their vitriolic ignorance. He has the audacity to say that federal gun laws are not restrictive enough to stop lunatics from getting guns. However, it is federal laws that preclude military members, like those stationed at Fort Hood, from carrying their own personal firearms for protection on DOD property. A law which did a bang up job deterring Hasan by the way.

What difference do you suppose one armed person could have made? But come on now, trained soldiers carrying firearms? We can’t have that. Its quite fine for you to carry your gun into battle Sonny, but here on post, now that's a different story. There is simply no reason for you to be armed. As long as you exclude a radical Islamic Palestinian traitor whose jihadist rhetoric was overlooked by the same entity that says you need not be armed. Hey Chuck! how about looking into that…

Add to this madness the fact that Texas has one of the most liberal open-carry and conceal-carry laws in the nation. Consider this, had ol’ Hasan picked the local Wal-Mart to go on his little jihad, the headlines would have read “One dead as Local Rancher prevents Army Major’s Deadly Rampage”. And have been lucky to make the 11 o’clock news in Austin, let alone CNN.

These morons will say anything to deflect the truth. Being that all of these laws amount to nothing but the destruction of personal liberties for honest Americans, and are next to useless for stopping a Hasan-type from murdering innocent people. A law is no help when you desperately need a “9mm Glock 17” to stop a mad man whose is about to kill you.

The Constitutional Patriots met for a regular scheduled meeting on Monday, November 9, 2009 at 7:00pm at the Life Center Auditorium. Johanna Campbell opened the meeting by welcoming everyone. Steve Huffman offered the prayer followed by the audience reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

In light of Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11th, Johanna asked that all veterans please stand for recognition by the audience, after which she read a very moving poem to honor the veterans. She then announced some upcoming events for the Constitutional Patriots group and asked everyone who could to please attend these meetings.

November 23rd - Don Bates, Jr., Rep. Senatorial Candidate

December 14th - Marlin Stutzman, Rep. Senatorial Candidate

January 23rd - Meet Your Local Candidates for 2010

She also stated that several tea party groups will meet at Warsaw IN on November 21st for a rally called "Count Down to Judgment Day." If anyone is interested in going she will try to get tickets as they are limited to 3000.

The next speaker was David Fillers who will be a candidate for Wells County Sheriff in the upcoming election. He asked everyone to come out for a pork chop fundraiser at the 4-H park on Saturday November 14th.

Michael Yancey then introduced our guest speaker Matt Rawlings of the Alliance Defense Fund. Mr. Rawlings explained the functions and goals of the ADF which is based in Scottsdale Arizona. Their work consists of three priorities - Life, Marriage, and Religious Freedom. They bring organizations together for an alliance to pursue these goals. He gave a very interesting and enlightening presentation, followed by questions from the audience.

Michael then told everyone they should not get discouraged with all that is happening because it is going to take time and all our involvement to change things. There is only so much one group can do about what happens in Washington D.C. He said where we can really make a difference is right here in Wells County and the State of Indiana.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:05pm.

Very quietly this past Tuesday night the people of Maine spoke. Just like the other 30 times it was tried a ballot initiative to strike down gay marriage legislation was accepted by the voters. And once again poor jurisprudence and legislative practice was overruled by the people.

This will not be the end, no not by a long shot, one proponent of gay rights on the Huffington Post said “we are counting on changing opinions in the younger generations to achieve our ends”. Well, if this is the plan, I say wait 30 years before taking up the cause again. But they won’t.

What is amazing is that the brokers behind these gay rights initiatives only respect our Constitution when they can manipulate it, but wring their hands when their sidestepping and subterfuge is defeated by it. The cries of voter manipulation and discrimination reach a fevered pitch every time they lose.

I personally do not care what your sexual proclivities are. Nor do I want or desire to know. They are a personal matter between you and Almighty God. Not between you and the almighty government and by extension… us. That's the point.

My beef is not primarily with your choices of bed partners, I don’t agree with it at all, but that is my belief. My primary bone of contention is with the continual onslaught of judicial activism outside the auspice of due process of the people. The special interest arm twisting that goes on in legislators, and wholesale social-thuggery, to get your way… only to whine and cry when the system and people defeat you… 31 times.

The groups supporting gay rights don’t give a codfish about the people they “advocate” for. If they did they would not usurp the Constitution. They care about the one thing that all special and single interests care about… getting their way no matter the costs. Cloaking their real agendas, which is the destruction of this Republic’s founding document. The stumbling block to their ultimate goals. A progressive utopia to impose their way at the point of a gun… only if necessary I’m sure.

Laugh, I don’t care, laugh yourself silly. Call me narrow-minded, homophobe, or a fascist (Best look that last one up before you do though). After all its not me that is advocating the destruction of the rule of Law. I want it upheld at all costs, because it, and nothing else, can protect each of our rights.

If you want your way, then do it in the light of day in full view. Stop hiding behind PC terms like “marriage equality” just because they sound better in the public square. Quit elevating a “choice” to an “rights” issue. And stop comparing your plight to the Civil Rights movement. You can stop or not be noticed being gay, my friend Louis can’t stop or not be noticed being black.

Have you stopped to think where all this will end up? If you succeed in convincing politicians and people your life decision was

But if you want to persist, you will learn the lessons that others have when you let politicians use you to get elected… They are only using you to get elected.

Its simple as this, make your case, speak your piece, and have the maturity to accept the answer… Even when it is “No”… 31 times.

Gubmint and How Gubmint Works

Once upon a time the government had a vast  scrap yard in the middle of a desert. Congress said, "Someone may steal  from it at night." 

So they created a night watchman  position and hired a person for the job.
Then  Congress said, "How does the watchman do his job  without instruction?" So they created a planning department and  hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one  person to do time studies.

Then Congress  said, "How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks  correctly?" So they created a Quality Control department  and hired two people. One to do the studies and one to write  the reports.

Then Congress said, "How are these  people going to get paid?" So They created the following  positions, a time keeper, and a payroll officer, then hired two  people.
Then Congress said, "Who will be accountable  for all of these people?"
So they created an administrative  section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a  Legal Secretary.

Then Congress said, "We  have had this command in operation for one Year and we are  $18,000 over budget, we must cutback overall  cost." So they laid off the night  watchman.


NOW slowly, let it sink  in.


Quietly, we go like sheep to  slaughter.


Does anybody remember the reason given for  the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY..... during the  Carter  Administration?

No?
Didn't  think so!


Bottom line. We've spent several hundred  billion dollars in support of an agency...the reason for which  not one person who reads this can  remember! Ready??


It was very simple...and at  the time, everybody thought it very appropriate.
The  Department of Energy was instituted on 8-04-1977, TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN  OIL.


Hey,  pretty efficient, huh???


AND NOW IT'S 2009 -- 32  YEARS LATER -- AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS "NECESSARY" DEPARTMENT IS AT  $24.2 BILLION A YEAR. THEY HAVE 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND  APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES; AND LOOK AT THE JOB THEY HAVE  DONE! THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY, "WHAT WAS I  THINKING?"

 

32 years ago 30% of our oil consumption was foreign imports.  Today 70% of our oil consumption is foreign imports.


Ah, yes -- good ole  bureaucracy.
AND, NOW, WE ARE GOING TO TURN THE BANKING SYSTEM,  HEALTH CARE, AND THE AUTO INDUSTRY OVER TO THE SAME  GOVERNMENT?

A list of egregious, questionable, or potentially absurd proposals in the Pelosi Health Care legislation with page numbers and provisions in the 1,990-page health care bill:

Page 122—Section 233(a)(3) requires the Commissioner—the new insurance “czar”—to “issue guidance on best practices of plain language writing”—this from the same people who wrote a 1,990 page health care bill

Page 183—Section 305(a) gives the Commissioner the power to enlist “appropriate entities” like Planned Parenthood and ACORN to engage in “outreach to specific vulnerable populations” about the bill’s new programs

Page 216—Section 322(b)(3) prohibits “any federal funds for purposes of insolvency” from being directed toward the government-run health plan—an anti-bailout provision that may seem implausible given Democrats’ role in advancing legislation to bail out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

Page 872—Section 1433 requires the director of food services at nursing facilities participating in Medicare and Medicaid to hold “military, academic, or other qualifications” as determined by federal bureaucrats

Page 1067—Section 1729 requires States to cover incarcerated juveniles previously enrolled in Medicaid after their release “unless and until there is a determination that the individual is no longer eligible”

Page 1183—Section 1904 provides $750 million in federal funding for a new entitlement program to offer “knowledge of realistic expectations of age-appropriate child behaviors” and “skills [for parents] to interact with their child”
Page 1255—Sections 2231-2235 make veterinary students eligible for up to $283 million in federal scholarship and student loan forgiveness funding

Page 1432—Section 2531 provides incentive payments to States that enact new medical liability laws—but only if such laws do “not limit attorneys’ fees or impose caps on damages”

Page 1515—Section 2572(b) imposes labeling requirements on all vending machines nationwide, in addition to new mandates by the federal government on all restaurants with more than 20 locations

Page 1925—Section 3101 creates a new program within the Indian Health Service to provide federal funding for “perpetrators of child sexual abuse who are Indian or members of an Indian household”

What's The Next Move for Congress?

This week's elections resulted in two new Republican governors in states known for strong Democrat support seen as recently as one year ago when Obama swept New Jersey and Virginia. There was also a strong showing by an amateur newbie, Doug Hoffman of New York's 23rd district, who ran on the Conservative ticket and was summarily dismissed by the pseudo-Republican who bowed out. The crisp fall air today is permeated by the impatience of voters in other states who now are counting down to the spring primaries and next year's general election, ready to make their voices heard at the ballot box. Their message is clear: keep overspending, overtaxing, and treating us like mentally-challenged cattle, and we will be glad to add you to the ranks of the unemployed.

So now I have a few questions: Do the far-left leaning and wimpy, moderate members of Congress get what happened yet? Do they understand the gravity of their peril? If they do, they have two choices. One is to straighten up and fly right, pardon the pun, a.k.a. "I need to save my own hide" mode. Perhaps they would review the pending legislation before them with a more serious consideration to the opinions of their constituents. Perhaps they would challenge the members of their own parties to consider the Constitution, especially the article that ISN'T there saying "All citizens shall have free (fill in the blank)." Perhaps they will connect with the communities who elect them instead of the special interest groups.

Their second choice is to view this as a rally call for crazy time. They see the hourglass has been turned over, and each day is another grain of sand slipping through until the bell tolls and their hour of power is gone. So they will feverishly rush through legislation to please their backers, to hell with what their constituents think. Perhaps they will pursue every angle at the whim of their special interest pals. If the voters are going to vote them out anyway, why not ram every far-reaching, socialist, deficit-growing program they've ever thought of through right now before they're shown the door?

So Senator, Congressman, what is your choice? Will you choose to exhibit some character, take us seriously, and try to repair this severely frayed relationship with your constituents? Or will you play lame duck and let your bitterness and contempt for the "useful idiots" come through? You get to decide now. We get to decide next November. It's not that far away, and even mentally-challenged cattle have memories.

Letter to the Editor - 2 Nov 09

"I've had a belly full of lies!" is the line that comes to my mind this morning. That line was spoken by John Wayne to Geraldine Page in the movie "Hondo." He could no longer stomach being complicit with her by concealing the truth from her innocent young son about her dead husband's evil character and the manner of his death, despite his affection for both of them.
The 6th District Constitutional Patriots had a public meeting again at the Life Center Auditorium, with two local state legislators and one local judge in attendance. The main speaker for the evening was a local businessman who had just returned from (that) Saturday's protest/rally in Washington, D.C.
One of the first things said by this normally reserved man was, "What people need to know is - the media is lying to them!" He lamented that the British and French media were there to cover the event, reporting numbers between 1 million and 2 million. He noted that the American media, with the exception of Fox News, was virtually nonexistent while reporting numbers in the "tens of thousands."
I went home from the meeting and picked up our local hometown newspaper to see its coverage of the D.C. rally. Guess what? Nothing was found! I then scoured a week's worth of this newspaper trying to find coverage on the recently resigned Obama administration czar Van Jones, a self-proclaimed communist with radical leftist ties, or the exploding ACORN corruption scandal. Again, the silence was deafening.
So, is deliberately withholding coverage on major news events of the day a violation of journalistic integrity? Doesn't suppression of truth by omission fly in the face of guaranteeing a free and truthful (implied) press by the First Amendment of our Constitution? Read Romans 1:18 to find out what God thinks about "men who suppress the truth." I believe much of the media is now past the point of a simple bias. They have moved to actually being complicit in furthering a radical transformation of our country. They routinely ignore any news damaging to their leftist agenda, or news promoting a return to limited government as proscribed by our Constitution.
I don't know about you, but I've had a belly full of lies!

What is it with Commies and their Cartoons??

“Why we need universal healthcare” is a must see.  The kooks love cartoons for some reason.  This one is a classic.  Talk about oversimplifying things.  I love how he explains that Medicare does such a good job, but fails to mention the rampant fraud and how it is beyond bankrupt.  The rebuttal clears up a lot of the misinformation and oversimplification of this complex issue.
